Cassian is part of a new generation of artists asking some of the most important questions of our time.
As technology increasingly shapes how we work, communicate, create — and even understand ourselves — where does the human hand end and the machine begin?
Cassian’s practice moves between two worlds: the ancient traditions of figurative sculpture, clay and bronze, and the extraordinary possibilities of VR, digital modelling and 3D printing.
But technology is not the subject simply because it is new.
Through the human figure, Cassian explores identity, belief, consciousness, technology and our increasingly hybrid existence. His sculptures ask what happens to us as the boundaries between the physical and virtual become less distinct — and what we might carry forward as human beings.
Come and watch Cassian sculpt live in VR, hear him speak about his process and ideas, and experience Mirrored Futures in the remarkable setting of Daytona Showroom, Melrose Arch.
Two Saturdays. Two opportunities to step inside the future of sculpture.
