Incorporating text has always been important in my work and so with this latest body of work, I am exploring how our past, present, and future are shaped by our words – whether they be words our parents, our teachers, or we ourselves have spoken.

On another level I believe we can choose the destiny intended for us by the Living Word found in the Bible and so be “Shaped by Your Word” (God’s Word) which says “Life and death is in the power of the tongue” (Proverbs 18:21).

I am excited by the idea of being molded by the Word, created by and creative through the Word! My hope through art, is to generate critical thinking, even caution with regards to not only what we do, but what we say.
