The creative practice of Kenyaa Mzee is simultaneously archival in nature and rooted in art activism, as she offers a nuanced exploration of the intimate intricacies of the Black female body. Mzee considers both the willing and unwilling journeys that the body traverses throughout its Earth life. Mzee aims to transcend the realm of photography and conceptual visual art, by lobbying for social change and the building of societies that strive to be cognisant of the embodied experiences of everyone, both individual and universal. 

South African conceptual artist and Writer, Kenyaa Mzee, is a photographer  and writer  based in Cape Town, South Africa. Mzee has 10 years worth of experience in all levels of photography, in addition to on-set production, which includes pre-production, production and post-production. Moreover, Mzee has a solid background in events management, creative direction and social media management. In 2018, Mzee graduated with a Diploma in Film and Television, from the School of Film and Media at  City Varsity, Cape Town.
