Kate Shand has a special interest in group work and has facilitated many arts-based workshops over the years. She is particularly passionate about working with clay and its ability to heal. Her prior work experience is in communications in various sectors, including urban regeneration, arts and culture, heritage and tourism. Other qualifications include a Masters in Heritage (Wits), Advanced Diploma Visual Art (Unisa) and Community Art Counselling trainer (Lefika La Phodiso).
 
Nina Shand's ceramic pieces can be made in one sitting and she likes to use one slab of clay, which is cut with various darts/pleats, resembling dress making patterns. Nina has participated in many national ceramic exhibitions over the past 20 years and won a national ceramic award and a regional CSA annual exhibition prize. She represented South Africa in Germany at the First European Wood-firing Conference in 2011 and at ClayPush 2013 in Australia. Nina has an MA degree in Industrial Sociology (Wits).
